Sip Sip Hooray

Being in charge of the cake topper for your friends 30th birthday is kind of a big deal. Without evening speaking too much about it I promised my friend Ellie that I would get her a cake topper that wasn’t too naff. No tiaras, no big glittery numbers…. just a wee banner with some cute garland and we called it a day. I absolutely love finding handmade things for parties because it’s the perfect touch to an event. I feel there is a special element when you get something that has been made with love, from someone who just enjoys creating beautiful things.

I’m sad to report that the gorgeous topper had a short lived life. After probably too many champagnes, we brought out the birthday cake, lit some gold candles and all gathered round for a bellowing version of Happy Birthday for our friend. Well the cake topper survived maybe 20 seconds of our singing (and I don’t blame it)… you can view the destruction play out live in a video I made here!

Thank you to Susan from Little Confetti Love for your gorgeous work on this cake topper, it was the perfect addition to our party and by no means did I intentionally burn this lovely gift. If you’re like me and always on the hunt for for gorgeous hand calligraphy paper goods that are individually made-to-order, visit Little Confetti Love on Etsy today.

** This is NOT a sponsored post. I just love finding things that are beautiful and easily accessible and
feel they should be shared with others 🙂 **
